The school complex of the Sisters Annonciaden, right in the center of Wijnegem, Belgium, was re-examined in its relationship with the environment and developed into a building cluster with mixed use. Assistance homes, offices, a nursery, shops, medical practice and a hairdresser, all in a beautiful park. The new-build volumes are mainly assisted-living apartments that are fully geared to the needs of today and tomorrow. On the ground floor, the communal services are a lounge area with bar, a kitchen, multipurpose room and doctor's surgery.
